Celebrate the new opening of Bend Tea & Art Lounge with a special hand-building workshop designed to honor the beauty and ritual of tea.
In this guided 2.5 hour experience, you’ll create your own ceramic tea cup, matching saucer, and handcrafted strainer a complete set designed for slowing down and savoring intentional moments.
You’ll learn foundational slab and pinch techniques to form a balanced cup that fits comfortably in your hands, a complementary saucer, and if there is enough time, a functional clay strainer designed to rest gently across the rim. We’ll focus on proportion, refining edges, thoughtful details, and subtle surface textures. Participants can choose clean, minimal lines or add carved, botanical, or sgraffito elements for a more expressive finish.
This workshop is beginner-friendly and supportive, while still offering depth for those with experience. The process itself becomes part of the ritual, grounding, creative, and calm.
All clay, tools, glazing, and two kiln firings are included. After the workshop, pieces will be carefully finished and glazed, then ready for pickup within approximately 4 weeks.

Together, we’ll honor this turning point by creating ceramic sun catchers that celebrate light, growth, and new beginnings. In this two-part workshop, you’ll shape and carve, your pieces before returning to finish and assemble it in community. We’ll close with a simple Equinox ceremony, taking time for intention-setting and reflection as we welcome the season of expansion and possibility.
